         Vikings schedule first Candlelight Bowl
     Homewood Area Small Fry will have an evening of fun when it hosts a Candlelight Bowl on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Glenwood Bowl at 9 p.m. The $20 per person event includes dinner.

                 Annual golf outing another success
     The annual Homewood Small Fry Golf Outing hosted one of its largest turnouts ever on Sunday, Aug. 25 at Deer Creek Golf Course. A field of more than 60 competed and enjoyed door prizes, a chance to win a car and camaraderie.
     Following is a list of prize winners:
Men's low gross: Tom Poynton (75), Louis Roy (80), Brian Johnson (83).
Women's low gross: Ruth Shipman (116).
Men's low net: Scott Shipman (64).
Women's low net: Jenny Taylor (75).
Men's longest drive: Tom Poynton (325 yards).

Homewood takes 10th place at International

     Homewood posted a 2-2 record at the 34th annual International Small Fry Tournament on April 1-4 in Orlando, advancing to the consolation championship game a second straight year before a 46-41 loss to the rival Highwood Heat..
     Chicago Heights 41, Homewood 27- The Vikings (13-10) had their worst shooting effort of the year (17 percent) in the opening-round loss. DeAndre Haynes led the way with seven points and nine rebounds. Homewood trailed 29-11 at half.
     Homewood 48, Newark Project Pride 45- Tyler Crisman and Bruce Durham (eight rebounds) each scored 11 points and Crisman hit eight fourth-quarter free throws to seal the victory. Donell Cooper dished out five assists.
     Homewood 40, West Pullman Runners 36- The Vikings kept their foe off the free-throw line the entire game to win the defensive battle. Rick Williams topped Homewood with 14 points, while Durham clicked for eight and Crisman and Cooper five each. Homewood hit four of its five fourth quarter field goals attempts to sew up the victory.
     Highwood Heat 46, Homewood 41- The Vikings dropped their fourth of the year to the Heat, despite 14 points and nine rebounds from Durham.
