Vikings annual golf outing success at Lincoln Oaks

     Homewood Small Fry hosted its annual Alumni and Friends fund-raiser golf outing on Saturday, Aug. 18 at Lincoln Oaks Golf Course. Golfers enjoyed fantastic weather at the event, which will help fund the team's 2013 trip to the International Small Fry Tournament in Orlando, Fla..

Vikings roll past Midwest foe Harvey
for 7th place at International Tournament
  
   ORLANDO, FLA.- Homewood Area Small Fry improved to 2-3 in Orlando at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World Resort, as the Vikings (14-14) captured seventh place on April 11 at the 44th annual International Tournament.
    Homewood 59, Harvey 28- After letting leads slip away in three International Tourney losses, the Vikings jumped to an 18-2 lead and rolled this time to conclude the year with a seventh-place International finish.

    Nick Perry hit three threes to pace Homewood with 18 points, while Jesiah Jones (seven rebounds) finished with nine markers and Ernst Coupet (six rebounds, three assists) chipped in eight points. Maurice Commander notched six points, six assists and five steals for the Vikings, who limited Harvey to 12 second-half points and avenged two earlier setbacks to the Wildcats.
    Chi-Town NBN 47, Homewood 45- The Vikings (13-14) fell for the second straight game in overtime (double on this occasion) as Chi-Town gained revenge from an earlier 32-point setback to Homewood. Nick Perry topped Homewood with nine points, while Ernst Coupet added six. Jesiah Jones grabbed 11 rebounds for the Vikings and Rashawn Robinson dished out four assists.
    Chicago Heights 55, Homewood 53- The Green Streaks overcame a 14-point second-half deficit and scored the final eight points of regulation before winning in overtime. Victor Quinones had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Chicago Heights, which went 5-0 against Homewood this season. Tashaun Robinson added 15 points for the Streaks and Tariq Deere chipped in 10 points.

    Homewood had solid balance behind Nick Perry (10 points), Greg Boyd (nine), Matt Pollack and Rashawn Robinson (eight each). Jesiah Jones ripped down five rebounds and Maurice Commander dished out seven assists for Homewood, which held a 31-17 lead early in the second half.
    Homewood 36, CIAPR 30- Despite nearly blowing a big lead for the second straight day, the Vikings (13-12) survived behind the balance of six points each from Dylan Duplessis, Greg Boyd and Nick Perry. Rashawn Robinson came up with five steals, Maurice Commander dished out three assists and Jesiah Jones topped Homewood with seven rebounds.

    Encantada, PR 46, Homewood 37- The Vikings (12-12) squandered a 17-point second half lead on Monday in the Bracket-Buster, but still entered the 16-team International Tournament as a seeded squad. Ernst Coupet, Nick Perry and Keegan Mraz each scored seven points to lead the Vikings, who committed 25 turnovers and missed 12 free throws. Jesiah Jones topped Homewood with six rebounds.
